Archbishop Riordan got on scoreboard in the first inning, but the Bears pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning led by a key hit from Pete Discher. Tyler Nelson drove in two runs with a bases loaded single to start a five run rally in the fifth inning. Max Coupe led the team at the plate (2-3) and scored three times. John Quinlan, Anthony Waller and Jack Phillips also collected hits for the Bears.
Daniel Burke was the winning pitcher, allowing one hit, zero runs and striking out five over three and two-thirds innings. Elliot Zeien and Pete Discher entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Bears (2-2) open up league play on Tuesday, March 12th against Half Moon Bay (4-0).
